Autumn's Fire

Desperate, dead, and dormant winter

Seeking resurrection from the grave

Daisies that were planted,

Turned to death and dreaded decay

Warmth from summer’s sun

Wasted and thrown away

As the butterflies were replaced

By moths, desperate for flame.
